What is the difference between metal value and buying price?
Metal value is weight times fineness times the market price. Buying price is what you receive: metal value minus refining costs and margin. Both appear on the statement.
Why is the buying price lower than the market price?
The market price applies to pure fine gold in bar form. Jewellery is an alloy, the gold has to be separated out of it, and that costs money.
How often do you change your prices?
Continuously: the prices on this website recalculate every 15 minutes from the current market price. What's binding is the price on the statement.
Do you include the stone and setting in the calculation?
